CITY, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com) Are you interested in learning more about Islam than media soundbites provide? Are you interested in improving relationships with our interfaith neighbors?  These questions will be addressed at the presentation, “Moving Beyond Media Soundbites:  Islam, Christianity and Interfaith Relations,” at Valley City State University in the Rhoades Science Center on Tuesday, February 16 at 7pm.

The event is free and the public is invited to attend.  The presenter will be Dr. Jacqueline Bussie, Concordia College Associate Professor of Religion and Director of the Forum on Faith and Life at Concordia.

Dr. Bussie teaches and publishes in the areas of theology, service-learning, problem of evil studies, Christian ethics, interfaith cooperation, and faith and public life. Her education includes a B.A. from Davidson College, a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in Theology, Ethics and Culture from the University of Virginia.

Dr. Bussie is a speaker and workshop facilitator. Her first book, The Laughter of the Oppressed (2007, published by T & T Clark/Continuum), was the winner of the national Trinity Prize.
