(NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown basketball was headed to Dickinson to try to put Wednesday’s tough loss to VCSU behind them, but the Jimmies left still searching for their first win in 2016. Dickinson State controlled the tempo and raced to an 85-71 win.
The game was chippy early with both teams battling hard and showing the other how hard it was going to be to win the NSAA this year. But after the game was tied at 17, the Blue Hawks separated themselves. DSU outscored the Jimmies 24-13 to close the half and then opened up the second half with a 11-1 run.
The game slowed down in the final three minutes as the Jimmies tried close the gap with fouls. They got within nine, but that was as close as they would get.
Jamestown’s Brequan Tucker tied his career high with 31 points. Jamestown will host VCSU on Wednesday.
