(NewsDakota.com) After starting the 2015-16 season 0-3, the Oakes High School boys basketball team has won five games in a row; the latest coming Monday night in Napoleon against the Imperials of Napoleon-Gackle/Streeter by a 66-63 final.

The hometown Imperials (2-6, 0-1 Class B District 6) had a lead as large as 10 points in the second quarter, but the lead was only four points at halftime.

Oakes’ Matt Kuipers hit a long distance three pointer at the end of the half to pull the deficit down to four. In the fourth, Tornadoes were able to take the lead to as high as nine before a late rally by NGS in the waning minutes.

The Tornadoes were lead by seniors Brody Bartholomew and Ethan Zetocha with 22 and 21 points respectfully. The Imperials had a team high 25 points from senior Jaden Jangle.

Oakes (5-3, 1-1 Class B District 5) takes on yet another team from District 6 Tuesday night when they welcome the Lions of Linton-HMB. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts at 7:15, with tip at 7:30.
