CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Girls: Central 69, Valley City 43

Central jumped out to a 12-point first half lead, thanks in part to their zone press. The press led to some easy transition baskets. The Hi-Liners battled back to tie the game twice in the first half, but didn’t take the lead. The Knights took a 32-28 halftime lead. Foul trouble hurt Valley City in the 2nd half, and the Knights took advantage. Liz Dub had a double-double for the Knights with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights are 2-4 overall, and 1-4 in the EDC.

Brenna Dieterle led the Hi-Liners with 17 points and six rebounds. Taryn Dieterle added 10 points, her second consecutive game in double figures. Valley City falls to 0-7 overall, 0-6 in the EDC. The Hi-Liners host Lisbon on Saturday night.

Nix had 19 points, a season high, and seven rebounds. Hunter Burchill added 16 points, and Nate Rodriguez, Lane Kvien, and Jordan Eggermont each chipped in 11 points.
