N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County North continues to face more vacancies after elementary school Principal Joan Klien announced she would be leaving at the end of the school year.

This, along with school board member Dale Van Erem resigning and teachers looking for employment elsewhere, haas created some unrest within the school’s district. In November, BCN parents decided a recall election was their last resort. Parents stated that the board was the reason why Superintendent Mark Lindahl is retiring at the end of the current school year.

If petitions are approved, Anne Osborne and Lori Carlson would be up for recall. Parents are also looking for someone willing to run for the Spiritwood spot currently held by Chairwoman Lori Carlson.

Carlson has stated before that the board has done nothing wrong that would merit a recall of any board member.
