Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Tornadoes picked up their second win of the season as they demolished the Oak Grove Grovers 12-0 (5 inn).

The game started with Michael Hoistad hitting and then walking 3 Grovers batters to give Oak Grove the bases loaded with no outs. Hoistad would then lock in and retire the next 6 batters straight allowing only 3 more base runners for the rest of the game.

The Tornadoes got started early with Harry Neustal doubling, Chris Titus getting hit by a pitch, and Hoistad doubling both of them in then getting driven in himself by Zade Heier making it a 3-0 ballgame in the 1st. Oakes would then score 3 more runs in the and then 6 more runs in the 3rd inning to take home a 12-0 victory.

The winning pitcher and Bank North Player of the Game was Michael Hoistad (5.0 IP, 2 H’s, 2 BB’s, 9 K’s). Elliot Buttenhoff got the loss (2.0 IP, 8 H’s, 2 BB’s, 2 K’s, 9 R, 3 ER) with Oliver Hegvik relieving him (2.0 IP, 3 H’s, 2 BB’s, 1 K, 3 R, 0 ER).

Next up for the Tornadoes is the Squirrels of Central Cass on Thursday May 1st in Casselton with first pitch scheduled for 5 pm and pregame on KDDR at 4:45 PM.
