EDGELEY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Each year, the North Dakota EMS Association recognizes those individuals who have made significant contributions to the provision, development, and improvement of local, regional, and state prehospital care. In 2025, we are honored to present the NDEMSA Southeast Region Siren Award to Kenny Scallon from Edgeley Ambulance Service
This award recognizes an individual driver who is not licensed above the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level. This individual goes above and beyond the call of duty, shows tremendous professionalism, and a strong dedication to EMS. The nominee must be a member of the North Dakota EMS Association.
Every squad needs a member like Kenny! He is a member you can count on to help with any task you need – whether it is taking regular call time, filling open shifts, responding first to the scene of rural calls, serving on a committee, fixing anything – the list goes on and on. Why does Kenny do all this for Edgeley? That answer is easy – he has the biggest, kindest, community-minded heart of anyone we know. Kenny doesn’t serve as an EMR because he wants to be in the spotlight, nor does he serve because he needs an extra paycheck. Kenny serves because he wants to help others. We can guarantee that Kenny has one of the highest percentages of attendance at squad meetings and trainings. He is always up for learning new topics, keeping his certification current, and looking for opportunities to make sure he knows what he needs to know in the ever-changing EMS field. Kenny is not only showing up to trainings and meetings, but his attitude is always positive and welcoming to new members. Edgeley Ambulance Service is thankful for all Kenny does, and we look forward to him serving for another 20 years!
