VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  The Hi-Liner girls tennis team was dominant in a 9-0 victory over Wahpeton on the road Tuesday.

No match lasted beyond a second set, with the Hi-Liners dropping just seven total games in doubles play, and only 15 total games in singles play.

Skye Nielson won 6-3, 6-3 at number one singles, the most competitive match of the day.  Georgia Zaun won a shutout at number two singles, and Chloe Liebersbach won a shutout at number six singles.  Kailee Nielson, Lexi Svenningsen, and Sara Beierle won singles matches for the Hi-Liners.

“Our team came out today ready to play,” said Hi-Liner coach Matt Nielson.  “They stepped into their shots and attacked volleys. It was very windy out. We moved our feet, kept our eye on the ball, and executed our shots using the wind to our advantage. We also kept our foot on the gas pedal and didn’t let our opponents stay in the match, never giving up more than three games in a set.”

Valley City will host West Fargo Thursday
