Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Tornadoes got their first win of the season beating the HFCTRL Stars by a final score of 9-6.

The game started out with a couple hits from the Stars in the first couple innings and the Tornadoes getting some baserunners via walk and HBP. Neither team was able to get scoring until the Stars got Hughin Carrent aboard in the 5th inning via a single to left. Left fielder, Zade Heier, would boot the ball allowing Carrent to get to 2nd base. Carrent would get to 3rd on a Mike Anderson fielders choice. Austin Jarabek would then get him in via a weak single to left making it 1-0.

The Stars would extend their lead in the 6th with Kellen Rempp reaching via single. This would be followed by 2 more singles with 2 outs to make it 2-0. Oakes then would hit around in the bottom of the 6th as they’d load the bases and start to advance runners around the bases. The Tornadoes would end up scoring 9 runs on 6 hits and 2 errors resulting in 5 earned runs and a 9-2 lead. The Stars would attempt a comeback but fall short allowing Oakes the 9-6 win.
