NEW ROCKFORD (NewsDakota)- The beginning of the busiest stretch of baseball that the Carrington Cardinals will face this season began with a masterful pitching performance before a non-region loss followed.

Carrington 3 New Rockford-Sheyenne 0

Cardinal junior Tate Wolsky crafted a five-hit shutout with twelve strikeouts in his first career complete game as Carrington moved to 2-0 in Region III play with a 3-0 win over New Rockford-Sheyenne.  Six days after throwing 111 pitches, Wolsky tossed 110 pitches and did not walk a hitter.  Jacob Boeshans and James Rau each had a hit and scored a run in the win.

Renville County 7 Carrington 0

The Cardinals (2-4, 2-0) committed six errors which allowed for every Muskrat run to be unearned in a 7-0 loss.  Renville County scored twice in the first and four times in the second, and Carrington was 0-for-12 with RISP for the game.  Josh Bickett had two of the Cardinals’ four hits.

Carrington continue Region III play on Friday night against South Border with coverage on KDAK The Cardinal beginning at 5:45 PM
