Hunter, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The pitchers would be dealing in fire in Hunter as the teams combined for a mere 5 hits as the Northern Cass Jaguars beat the Oakes Tornadoes 4-0.

The game started with Matthew Metzger pitching fire for the first 4 innings of play resulting in no Tornado baserunners to start while Zade Heier for the Tornadoes would let in 1 run off of a hit batter and a single in the first inning then settling in and sitting down the next 11 batters. Metzger would sit down 14 straight batters before Heier would single into left field to break up the Perfect Game in the 5th.

The Jaguars would get another run in the 5th with Collin Mitchell scoring off of a Metzger single. The Jags would score 2 more in the 6th with Trey Husar and Carter Wadeson scoring scoring from a Sam Klemen sac-bunt. Metzger on the other hand, after giving up the single in the 5th, would only allow 1 more baserunner off of a Chris Titus hbp but that would be it for the Tornadoes.

The winning pitcher was Metzger (7.0 IP, 1H, 0BB, 12K, 0R) while the losing pitcher was Heier (6.0 IP, 4H, 3BB, 8K, 4R, 4ER) who was also the Bank North Player of the Game.

Next up for Oakes is Fargo Oak Grove in Fargo on Easter Monday.
