
ECKELSON, N.D. (NDHP) – A 44-year-old Mandan man is dead following a two vehicle crash on Interstate 94 on Monday, April 14th, around 12:58 pm.
The Highway Patrol says a Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-94 at mile marker 278 two miles southeast of Eckelson, when it struck a Chevrolet Traverse head-on. The Toyota came to final rest in the median, the Chevrolet came to final rest in the westbound driving lanes. The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old Mandan man was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 74-year-old Bismarck man sustained serious, non-life-threatening injury and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Valley City and then to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Other agencies involved included the Barnes County Sheriff’s Department, Valley City and Sanborn Fire
Department, and Barnes County Ambulance.
