
BELCOURT – The runners kept reaching and circling the bases Tuesday for Jamestown Blue Jays Softball.
Megan Jarrett drove in seven runs in the doubleheader and Sophia Bond hit a grand slam in game one as Jamestown swept Turtle Mountain 32-1 and 20-0 at the TMCHS Softball Complex.
Game 1: Jamestown 32, Turtle Mountain 1 (5)
Jarrett drove in two runs in a 10-run first inning with a solo homer and a bases-loaded walk. Other highlights of the inning for Jamestown (5-2, 3-2 WDA) were a two-run single by Maddie Hoff and a three-run double by Avery Graves.
In a 10-run third inning for the Blue Jays, Graisyn Traut hit a two-run double and Hoff had a two-run single.
Violet Bohl slammed a two-run double in a six-run fifth.
Bond’s grand slam came in a six-run fifth.
Hoff struck out four and walked one in two hitless innings. Graves (1-0) worked the last three frames.
Game 2: Jamestown 20, Turtle Mountain 0 (5)
Jarrett hit a three-run home run in a seven-run second inning for the Blue Jays (6-2, 4-2 WDA). In an eight-run third inning, she added a two-run double.
Jaelyn Sloan (3-0) pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out 10.
Jamestown had nine hits and drew 15 walks.
The Blue Jays will host Bismarck High in a doubleheader on Thursday. Coverage will begin at 4:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
