JAMESTOWN – In the home debut for 2025 for Jamestown Blue Jays Baseball, there was plenty of offense, and one win.

Jamestown and Fargo South split a doubleheader Saturday at Jack Brown Stadium.  Fargo South took the opener 21-6, then the Blue Jays captured the second game 11-8.

Game 1: Fargo South 21, Jamestown 6 (6)
Pitching and defense struggled for Jamestown (1-4), who allowed 17 hits and committed five errors.

Caden Nelson had four hits, including three doubles, and three RBI for Fargo South (3-1). Matt Bryant also had four hits. Brander Hilmert, Tate Barnacle, Carson Shiek and Sith Egan each drove in two runs for the Bruins.

Braxton Perkins and Kale Verke each drove in two runs for Jamestown. Ethan Oettle drew three walks.

Game 2: Jamestown 11, Fargo South 8
Perkins doubled twice and drove in three runs for the Blue Jays (2-4), who scored four runs in the first inning and never trailed. Bennett Goehner double, singled and drove in two runs. Jaxon Kolpin and Brenner Weber had two hits apiece.

Cayleb Miller (1-0) pitched a complete game, striking out four.

Hilmert homered for Fargo South (3-2).

Jamestown will return to WDA play Tuesday at Jack Brown Stadium against St. Mary’s. Coverage will begin at 4:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
