VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The old scam phone call, I’ll issue you a warrant for your arrest is making the rounds once again.

The caller, this time pretends to be a Barnes County deputy, using a current deputies name and threatens arrest warrant powers if the victim on the other line, meaning you does not send money through venmo or any other means through your bank account information.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said do not comply with the callers request, simply hang up the phone and call the Barnes County Sheriff’s office and explain what happened to you over the phone. He said the scammer is using real Barnes County deputies names so don’t be fooled by this caller.
