Minot, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The 7th place game was a barn burner as the Oakes Tornadoes lost a 14 point lead to fall to the North Border Eagles by a score of 70-68 in double overtime.

The game started well for Oakes as they lead the way through the entire first half leading 13-12 after 1 quarter of play they’d build that lead to 23-21 at the half with Beau Thorpe leading the way.

The Tornadoes would then dominate in the 3rd quarter to take a 42-30 lead going into the 4th quarter. They would even get the lead to 14 early on leading 44-30. North Border would then start the long road back to tie it late in the quarter and send the game to overtime at 51-51. Both teams would then score 9 in the first overtime to make it 60-60 going into the 2nd overtime. North Border would then take the lead in that Overtime by 4 and Oakes owuldn’t be able to come back falling 70-68.
