
DICKINSON – The offense of Jamestown Jimmies Baseball appears to be ready for the conference season.
Jamestown scored 52 runs Saturday in their final two games of the NSAA Preseason Classic, defeating VCSU 33-0 and Mayville State 19-4 at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark.
Jamestown 33, VCSU 0 (7)
Jamestown (18-7) scored in six of the seven innings, had 10-run innings in the second and seventh, and rapped out 28 hits.
Ben Patton was 4-for-5 with three home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored. Landon Runge drove in four with a two-run homer and a two-run double. Ryan Muizelaar homered twice and Chase Burke and Isaiah Roebuck hit one long ball each.
Meanwhile, Ryan Radkey (2-1) pitched a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts for his second complete game of the season.
Jamestown 19, Mayville State 4 (7)
The barrage continued for the Jimmies (19-7) with nine runs in the first inning. Alex Alva drove in three in the inning with a two-run homer and a double and Runge hit a two-run double.
Runge drove in four more runs for the game. Roebuck was 3-for-3 with three RBI. Ben Swennumson hit a two-run pinch-homer.
Isaac Hanson (2-0) struck out eight in six innings while allowing just one run and four hits.
