Minot, ND (NewsDakota.com) The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets ran out of fuel in the 2nd half as they fell to the #1 Seed Wilton-Wing Miners by a final score of 69-53.

The game started out as a back and forth affair as no one was able to get much of a lead in the 1st half with it being tied 13-13 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Miners would eventually be able to get a 3 point lead going into the half with a 30-27 lead.

The Miners would then come to life outscoring the Rockets early on in the 3rd quarter quickly getting to a double digit lead and taking a 50-40 lead into the 4th quarter. The Rockets would then struggle to get any scoring going early in the 4th and they would have no answer to the Miners shots from beyond the arc making the final score 69-53.

The Rockets were led in scoring by Easton Simon who had 14. The all around leading scorer was Brandon Wallace of Wilton-Wing with 19.

The Rockets will now play in the Consolation Semifinals tomorrow night at 8:15 on Thunder 98.3.
