Arlene Ann McClure, 89, Valley City, North Dakota passed away at CHI Mercy Health in Valley City on February 19, 2025.   A memorial service will be held 10:30 am Thursday, March 20, 2025 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Valley City. Burial will be later in the spring at St. Catherine Cemetery, Valley City.

Arlene Ann Cichos was born November 24, 1935, to Joseph and Harriet (Kulla) Cichos.  She was united in marriage to Earl McClure on July 26, 1958.  He passed away on October 4, 1983. 

Arlene was a schoolteacher in Strasburg, North Dakota.  In later years, she was a bartender in Valley City at Clock Lounge, Paddock Lounge and the Labor Club.   She also enjoyed a good game of Bingo or cheering on her favorite teams of the Minnesota Vikings and NDSU Bison.  Arlene’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Arlene is survived by her children Michael McClure of Texas, Julie McClure of Valley City and Bonnie (Ron) Nickelsen of Valley City; grandson Timothy Newman, Thomas (Jenna) Newman and their dad Lenny Newman and grandson Mike Nickelsen; great grandsons Damian, Derek, Ian, Brady and Tucker and her great granddaughter Laikkyn Rose. She is also survived by her sisters Lorraine Bair of Windsor, Carol (John) Rowell of Jamestown and Elaine Jaskowski of Jamestown as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers Lawrence, Richard, Robert and Ronald and two sisters Margaret and Rita.
