BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – AARP ND commends passage and crypto protections provided by HB 1447 vote, urges Governor to sign bill into law. On Tuesday, March 18, the ND Senate pass HB 1447 45-1-1.

AARP State Director Josh Askvig stated, “AARP applauds the passage of HB 1447. Crypto scams cost North Dakotans $6 million in 2023 alone, and cryptocurrency kiosks have become highly effective tools for scammers. By posting fraud warnings, limiting daily transactions, and providing receipts, this bill creates consumer protections that will save older North Dakotans from having their life savings stolen by criminals. We urge the House to concur with the Senate version of the bill and send it to Governor Armstrong to sign this common-sense bill into law.”
