TUCSON, AZ – University of Jamestown Baseball extended its winning streak to five games Friday with a doubleheader sweep of 14th-ranked Ottawa University Arizona 3-1 & 7-4 at the Kino Sports Complex in their final two games of the Tucson Invitational Games.

Game 1: Jamestown 3, Ottawa (AZ) 1 (7)
Avery Liestman (4-1) pitched a six-hit complete game with six strikeouts for the Jimmies (14-5). He allowed one walk.

Joey Winters gave Ottawa (15-6) the lead with an RBI groundout in the top of the second inning.

Ryan Muizelaar continued his hot hitting for Jamestown with a two-run single in the third inning and an RBI single in the fifth. The three runs batted in give Muizelaar 20 for the season, 12 of which were in the last five games.

Game 2: Jamestown 7, Ottawa (AZ) 4 (7)
UJ (15-5) rallied with five runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 4-2 deficit.

Pinch-hitter Will Bachman drew a bases-loaded walk to bring the Jimmies within 4-3. Another bases-loaded walk to Julian Romero tied the game. Errors by Ottawa (15-7) then scored the final three runs of the inning.

Alex Alva had an RBI double and Jordan Singleton hit an RBI single for the Jimmies. Muizelaar had two more hits, extending his hitting streak to seven games.

Joe Hart (1-0) worked the last inning and a third scoreless for the win.

Jamestown will complete its Arizona trip with another doubleheader with Ottawa (AZ) Saturday, this time at Surprise, Arizona on a back field of the Kansas City Royals’ spring training complex.
