UPDATED: Game time announced

JAMESTOWN – When University of Jamestown Women’s Basketball lost Tuesday in the NSAA championship game to Dakota State, the Jimmies were relatively certain that their season was over.   Head Coach Thad Sankey said that he wasn’t expecting to receive an at-large bid.

Sankey possibly has never been so happy to be wrong.

Jamestown, as revealed Thursday, is in the 64-team field for the NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship as an at-large selection.  The Jimmies will play Georgetown College (KY) in a first-round game on Friday, March 14 in Great Falls, Montana.

The Jimmies (19-10) are the 13th seed in the Liston Quadrant, while the Tigers (20-8) are the fourth seed.  The University of Providence will host this four-team pod and is the fifth seed.  Also on March 14, the Argos will play 12th seed College of Idaho.

Winners of those two games will meet on Saturday, March 15 in the second round for a spot in the Round of 16 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Coverage of Friday’s game will begin at 7:30 PM on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
