
Bismarck, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Jamestown girls basketball team scored the opening points of the AA West Region quarterfinal contest and held a brief 2-0 lead at the 17:24 mark. A 9-0 Minot run prompted an early Blue Jay timeout, but the top ranked Magicians cruised to a 38-14 halftime lead. The Jays would be a bit more competitive in the second half getting outscored 36-25 but not enough to close the gap on the Magicians. LeeLee Bell (6’3 junior) paced Minot with a game high 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. Everette Deschamp added 12 points and 3 assists for Minot. Eve Knutson added 9 points and 6 rebounds as well for Minot. The Jays were paced by Adisyn Yunck with 10 points. Mea Ulland and Macey Neumiller added 9 points each for the Jays. Jamestown drops to 9-14 overall and will play in the consolation round Friday against Bismarck. Coverage will begin at 12:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
