BISMARCK, N.D. (PPR) – The House has approved plans for a new state hospital in Jamestown.

It’s part of the budget for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Rugby Republican Representative Jon Nelson says the $330 million plan will be funded in two ways — $200 million from the state’s Strategic Investments and Improvements Fund, and $130 million from a line of credit at the Bank of North Dakota.

Nelson says the budget bill also sets up a “steering committee,” with legislators from both parties, to help plan and monitor the progress of that project.

The Senate will now take up that project, and the full budget bill.
