DICKINSON – Both Jamestown Blue Jays basketball teams will be at home one more time.

They both will have home play-in games for the AA West Region Tournament on Saturday.  The girls clinched that with a 65-44 win Tuesday in the final regular season game at Dickinson.  The boys, who already had a home play-in game secured before Tuesday, dropped their regular season finale to Dickinson 79-75.

Girls: Jamestown 65, Dickinson 44
Except for a 2-2 tie, Jamestown (8-13, 6-12 WDA) led all the way in completing a regular season sweep of Dickinson (1-20, 0-18) and sewing up the eighth seed for the region tournament.

Four Blue Jays scored in double figures, with Macey Neumiller scoring 13, Adisyn Yunck 12, Haley Attleson 11 and Amelia Newman 10. Hannah Attleson had 12 rebounds, her 10th game this season of at least 10 caroms.

Senior Leah Trumbauer left the game early in the first half with an ankle injury.

Dickinson, who suffered a 19th straight loss, was led by senior Lauren Selle, who scored 16 points in her final home game.

Jamestown led by as much as 30 in the second half. The Blue Jays, the number eight seed, will host Minot North on Saturday in the AA West Region play-in game.

Boys: Dickinson 79, Jamestown 75
52 percent shooting in the first half had Jamestown (4-17, 4-14 WDA) up by as many as 12 points. Dickinson (13-8, 10-8) then scored 20 of the first 24 points of the second half, led by as many as 11 and withstood a late Blue Jay rally.

Nolan Weidner scored 18 to lead the home team. Boston Cranston scored 14 (11 in the second half) and Dylan Glasser had 13 (all in the second half).

Thomas Newman paced Jamestown with 25 points. Braxton Perkins scored 19.

Eighth seed Jamestown will host St. Mary’s on Saturday in the AA West Region play-in game.
