
LaCROSSE, WI – Second-ranked St. Xavier, led by a former Jamestown standout, overwhelmed University of Jamestown Men’s Volleyball Saturday, sweeping the Jimmies 25-22, 25-22, 25-13 at the R.W. Beggs Gymnasium at Viterbo University.
Former Jimmie and Blue Jay Caydann Cox, who transferred to SXU after the Jimmies won the last GPAC men’s volleyball championship last season, scored 13 kills for the Cougars (11-0) with six digs. Matt Pannala also had 13 kills, a solo block and six block assists.
Tomasz Swiderski had 10 kills for the Jimmies (4-11), who hit .000 with only 22 total kills and 22 errors in 80 attacks. Ethan Hoffert had 11 digs and Gabriel Ocasio made 20 set assists.
Jamestown will play Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California on Monday, March 3.
