JAMESTOWN, N.D. (FCCU) – First Community Credit Union’s (FCCU) first charity cause for the year, as voted for by members and staff, is Children’s and Youth causes. Charity efforts will be spread out across quarters one and two, with many of the funds going towards Fargo Sanford’s new Micro-Preemie unit.
To kick off the year, we will be supporting Project Ignite Light. FCCU will be holding a Blanket and Pajama drive at each branch to benefit the organization. FCCU is seeking new two-piece pajamas in sizes newborn through 18 years of age and new fleece tie blankets. Blankets must be 1.5 yards on each side and consist of two pieces of fabric; one solid and one patterned. For specific instructions, please visit:http://www.ignitelight.org donations may be dropped off through March 15th at any FCCU location.
Project Ignite Light is an organization that gives thousands of abused children a piece of security and hope. They provide ‘Bags of Hope’ to every reported abused child in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Each bag is customized for the child and includes a blanket, pajamas, toiletries, a flashlight, a book, and a water bottle. The organization was founded in 2008 by Jamestown native, Pebbles Thompson. They function out of the old Barnes County North School near Rogers, ND.

Additionally, we’re pleased to be including Special Olympics North Dakota in our support of Children and Youth.
Fundraising efforts throughout the first half of the year will include Jeans Fridays, Flannel Friday, a silent auction, sales of World’s Best Chocolate bars, and more.
