
FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 2024 NDLTAP Road Scholar Program Award Recipients were recognized at the North Dakota Association of County Engineers, County Road Conference, Jan.28 in Fargo, ND.
The North Dakota Local Technical Assistance Program (NDLTAP) offers a Road Scholar Program for road and highway practitioners in North Dakota. It recognizes each participant’s achievement in subjects and topics essential to efficient and effective local road maintenance and management.
The participation in the Road Scholar Program will increase the knowledge and awareness of how and why the road systems must be properly managed. The ideas, knowledge, and skills they gain through NDLTAP training will help them on the job, strengthen the agency, preserve the roadway infrastructure, and reduce the cost of maintaining the roadways.
The NDLTAP Program Consists of 3 levels of completion:
Trail Blazer (level 1) – 30 Learning Hours
Voyager (level 2) – 90 Learning Hours
Road Pro (level 3) – 150 Learning Hours
This year NDLTAP awarded 24 Trailblazer’s (level 1) recipients and 2 Voyager’s (level 2) recipients statewide. Barnes County had 2 level 1 recipients. Shane Olauson and Jason Metcalf of the Barnes County Highway Department.
These awards were presented at the ND Association of County Engineers Annual County Roads Conference held January 28th in Fargo.
