BISMARCK – Jamestown High School Girls Basketball used a second-half rally for a Friday win at Bismarck High. Then, the Demons were simply overwhelming for the Blue Jay boys.
JHS’ girls came from 13 points down in the first half to win 50-40 over Bismarck at Karlgaard Gym. The Demon boys then ran past the Blue Jays 112-42.
Girls: Jamestown 50, Bismarck 40
As Bismarck went cold in the last 13 minutes of the game, Jamestown hit their stride, thanks largely to Leah Trumbauer.
Trumbauer, who had struggled to score in recent games, was perfect on four second half three-pointers, scoring 12 points and helping Jamestown (6-12, 4-11 WDA) stop a five-game losing streak.
Macey Neumiller also scored 12 for the Blue Jays, nine of which came in the first half. Haley Attleson hit two three-pointers and scored nine for the Blue Jays, who had a 28-9 run in the last 13 minutes and didn’t allow Bismarck (10-8, 8-7) to score in the last 4:42. Hannah Attleson had 10 rebounds and four assists, her eighth game this season with at least 10 rebounds.
Taya Fettig scored eight and hit two three-pointers for the Demons, who led 22-9 in the first half before seeing their lead cut to 26-22 by halftime.
On Tuesday, the Blue Jay girls will try for a regular season sweep of Minot North, this time playing on the Sentinels’ home floor. Coverage will begin at 5:45 PM on Q101.

Bismarck (14-4, 11-4 WDA) started the game hitting shots and didn’t quit doing so. The Demons took advantage of 19 Jamestown turnovers and hit exactly 50 percent from the floor on 84 shots. Bismarck had 23 points off turnovers and 37 fast break points.
