JAMESTOWN – Carter Johnson scored two power play goals and had an assist Friday as University of Jamestown ACHA D1 Men’s Hockey closed its home schedule with a 4-0 win over UMary at Wilson Arena.
Johnson had the primary assist on the first goal for Jamestown (20-11-1-0), scored by Kaleb Percival, his second of the season, at 5:28 of the first period. Jordan Baranesky also assisted. Zane McDonald scored with only two seconds left in the period, set up by Matthew Poole, and the Jimmies led 2-0 after the first period.
Johnson scored an unassisted power play goal at 5:25 of the second period and again scored with a man advantage at 10:41 of the third, assisted by Poole and Baranesky.
Brandon Weare made 32 saves in goal for his third shutout of the season. The Jimmies out shot the Marauders 45-32.
Jamestown and UMary will close the regular season on Saturday evening at the Starion Sports Complex in Bismarck.
