WATFORD CITY – Kaydence Golding won her weight class, highlighting five Jamestown Blue Jay wrestlers to qualify for the state tournament from the West Region Girls Wrestling Tournament, held Friday at the Rough Rider Center.
Golding, a state finalist in 2024, captured the 124-pound regional championship with pins in her first three matches, followed by a technical fall win in the title match over Tenley Michel of Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central.
Also making state are Grace Bercier with a third-place finish at 170 pounds, Leah Torres with fifth at 118, Mackenzie Stoddart taking sixth at 130 and Hope Miller finishing eighth at 190 pounds.
As a team, the Blue Jays were ninth of 25 teams with 86.5 points.
The NDHSAA Girls Wrestling Individual Championships will be held Thursday and Friday at the Fargodome.
