HORACE, N.D. (Farm Rescue) – Today, Farm Rescue announced that it raised more than $1 million in total donations through Giving Hearts Day, a record haul for Farm Rescue as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

“Farm Rescue has always been able to depend upon our friends for assistance, and this year they stepped up in a big way,” said Tim Sullivan, Farm Rescue’s Executive Director. “With the help of several longtime supporters who offered to match the first $500,000 in donations, we received an outpouring of support from families and businesses across the United States.”

Farm Rescue donors and partners raised a total of $1,196,454.96 for the North Dakota-based nonprofit, far surpassing the organization’s previous Giving Hearts Day record of $278,316.96 set in 2024. This year’s sum was provided by 670 donors from 33 U.S. states, compared to 589 donors from 30 states during last year’s event.

Giving Hearts Day is a unique fundraising event for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Since its first event in 2008, generous donors have given more than $200 million — of which 100% goes directly to participating charities. For the last 10 years, Farm Rescue has proudly participated in Giving Hearts Day to strengthen its work in assisting farm and ranch families in crisis.

“At the very heart of our work at Farm Rescue is our belief in the power of neighborliness and community,” said Sullivan. “Giving Hearts Day helps focus this power for the benefit of all nonprofit organizations serving our region, and we are grateful for it and the work of the Dakota Medical Foundation.”
