VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In the next couple of weeks, the School Facilities Advisory Committee will be sending a recommendation to the school board with a list of ideas and suggestions on how they think the school district and community can best address the current issues and needs of our school facilities. In their recent meetings, the committee has discussed possible solutions for the district, specifically focusing on the 1919 high school building with the additions from the 1940s, 50s, and 70s.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said when the school board receives this recommendation around the beginning of March, we will be sharing this information with the community through email and other communication methods. Please know that if a recommendation from the committee asks the school board to consider a school construction referendum, we would be looking at scheduling community meetings to share the importation information with the community but also answering your questions and collecting feedback.
He said while the school board is at least a few weeks out from receiving this recommendation, we wanted to give you a brief update on the work and timelines of the School Facilities Advisory Committee. The committee will be meeting for the fourth time next week and has tentatively scheduled a meeting, if necessary, for the beginning of March.
If you have questions, thoughts, or ideas that you would like to share with the committee, please reach out to me and/or our committee members in the next couple of weeks.
Sincerely, Josh Johnson
