CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- Despite five losses on the season, the Four Winds-Minnewaukan Indians have received votes in each of the last two media polls. And on Thursday night, they showed why they are a postseason threat.
Ron McKay led five double-digit scorers with 18 as the Indians defeated the Carrington Cardinals 76-40 on Thursday night in the home finale of the Cardinal boys’ season.
After Maddox McIlonie brought Carrington (12-6, 0-3) to within 6-3 on a three-point play, the Indians (10-5, 3-3) went on a game-sealing 14-4 run and never looked back.
McIlonie led the Cardinals, who lost senior Grady Idland to a leg injury in the fourth quarter, with 13 points and Taylen Mehring added eight.
Carrington are back in action on Thursday night at Medina-Pingree-Buchanan with coverage on KDAK The Cardinal and the KDAK The Cardinal YouTube page beginning at 7:15 PM.
