FARGO, N.D. (VCSUVikings.com)– The Valley City State University track & field team competed in the Bison Open and Multi on Feb. 7 and 8. The Vikings recorded three school records, seven top eight finishes, and 13 personal bests at the meet.

Junior, Karly Just, broke the school record in the 3000-meter finishing with a time of 10:36.41 earning fifth at the event. Just broke the school record set by Kelly Besemer in 1998. Just also bested the school record in the mile with a time of 5:25.26.
Jasmine Barnes, a senior, ran the 1000-meter in 3:13.24 Barnes earned fifth in the 1000-meter at the event. Barnes also ran the mile finishing with a time of 5:25.72 good for the second fastest mile in the record books.
Viking sophomore Emma Muggli earned 2,883 points in the Pentathlon good for the school record. She earned a fifth-place finish in the pentathlon shot put with a 10.98-meter throw. She also earned sixth place in the pentathlon 800-meter running a time of 2:42.96.
Jordan Mount, a freshman, finished eighth in the 400-meter with a time of 50.11
Freshman, Zach Baumgartner, earned eighth in 1000-meter with a time of 2:45.70
Cameron Champagnie recorded a seventh place finish in the triple jump with a 13.24-meter attempt.
