DICKINSON – Heather Tibor scored 1:38 into overtime Friday and Dickinson rallied from three one-goal deficits to defeat Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Hockey 4-3 at the West River Community Center. The loss officially eliminated Jamestown from consideration for the girls hockey state tournament.
Jamestown (4-15-0-2, 3-15-0-2 League) led 3-2 until Kyndall Peterson scored, completing a hat trick, with 1:21 left in the third period for Dickinson (5-11-2-0, 5-11-2-0).
Tibor’s goal was on the only shot of overtime and just the 18th of the game for Dickinson, whom the Blue Jays out shot 34-18.
Maci Fisher scored for Jamestown and for a 1-0 lead 12:20 into the first period. Peterson’s first goal came 1:11 later.
Ellie Krueger gave Jamestown the lead again with a power play goal at 5:57 of the second period.
A power play tally by Peterson knotted the game again at 2-2 at 5:58 of the third period before Layni Bakalar scored on the power play at 12:34 for Jamestown’s third lead.
Jamestown will play Friday at Grand Forks.
