BISMARCK – After a win in this season’s first meeting, Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Basketball hoped to top Legacy again Friday.  However, the Sabers dominated in a 62-41 win at Haussler Gymnasium.

The Jamestown boys’ quest for a first three-game winning streak in nearly two years was stopped with a 72-60 Legacy victory.

Girls: Legacy 62, Jamestown 41
Marlee Falcon hit five three-pointers and scored 21 points with nine rebounds as Legacy (14-3, 11-3 WDA) led by as many as 30 in a dominating win.

Brooklynn Felchle and Abby Burman scored 10 each for the Sabers, with Felchle also having 10 rebounds, two assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Burman had five rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Macey Neumiller poured in 12 points for Jamestown (5-11, 3-10), hitting two three-pointers. Haley Attleson, Adisyn Yunck and Amelia Newman scored six points each, with Attleson and Yunck each hitting two threes. Hannah Attleson pulled down 10 rebounds, her seventh game this season with double-digit rebounds.

Jamestown will host Minot on Tuesday at Jerry Meyer Arena. Coverage will begin at around 5:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.

Boys: Legacy 72, Jamestown 60
Though Jamestown led through much of the first half, Legacy (12-4, 9-4 WDA) used 11-2 and 20-5 runs and 11 total three-pointers to rally and win.

Parker Falcon scored 16 for the Sabers with two three-pointers. Brody Weigel and Jonathan Roubideaux scored 10 each, with Weigel hitting three three-pointers.

Jamestown (2-14, 2-11) led 35-29 before Weigel just beat the buzzer at the end of the first half to give Legacy a 38-37 halftime lead. The lead changed hands a few more times early in the second half and the Blue Jays’ last lead was at 46-45 before Legacy’s 20-5 run.

Thomas Newman scored 23 for the Blue Jays. Braxton Perkins tallied 15.

Jamestown will play Minot Tuesday at the Magic City Campus of Minot High School.
