Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Carrington wrestling team (number one seed) went 3-0 to capture the 2025 NE regional dual championship. the Cards opened the tournament with a 54-6 win over Larimore and followed with a 46-30 win over 4th seeded Hisslboro-Central Valley (HCV). The Cards finished off the perfect day with a 39-30 win over Pembina County North in the title match.
The Cards won 9 of 10 matches against Larimore. The dual had 3 weight classes with double forfeits and the Cards picked up wins by fall or forfeit at 107 (Ridge Kramlich), 114 (Skye Kramlich), 121 (Dru Carr), 127 (Jaxson Wilson), 139 (Gabe Clifton), 145 (Nic Garber), 160 (Max Ciubotereanu), 189 9Jacob Hinrichs), and 215 (William Jorgenson). Double forfeits were at 133, 152, and 172 pound weight classes. Charlie Jorgenson was defeated by fall at 1:07 by Huntrt Thorvilson for Larimores only victory. The Cardinals led 54-0 before the final match.
Carrington knocked off HCV 46-30 in the semifinal round picking up wins by fall at 107 (Ridge K), 114 (Skye K.), 121 (Carr), 152 (C. Clifton), 172 (C. Garber), and 189 (Hinrichs). HCV led 18-12 after the first 5 matches (Carrington was up 12-0). TheCardinals would win 5 straight matches capped off with Hinrich’s fall giving the Cards a 40-18 lead and secured the dual victory before going on to win 46-30. Nic Garber added a 13-1 major decision victory in the dual.
The Cards defeated Pembina County North (PCN) 39-30 in the title match picking up wins by pin or forfeit at 121 (Carr), G. Clifton (145), N. Garber (152), and C. Clifton (160). S. Kramlich (114) finished the dual with a 15-0 technical fall over Henry Kemnitz. Other Cardinal wins in the title match were Max Ciuboteraneau (172) 14-4 major decision, Callen Garber (189) 13-11 decision, Ridge Kramlich (107) 8-2 decision.
