VALLEY CITY, ND (VCSUVikings.com and NewsDakota.com) Valley City State University football announced the signing of 34 athletes on Wednesday Feb. 5 for the Upcoming 2025 season.
All 34 athletes have signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at VCSU.
“Signing Day is always an exciting day as we welcome the future of Viking Football and envision the impact this 2025 Class will have on our program for years to come,” said VCSU Head Coach Dennis McCulloch. “Our coaching staff is committed to finding talented players who also embody the values of our Viking Brotherhood. We can’t wait to get them on campus, into practice, and see their hard work in action.”
The incoming group includes seven transfers and 27 high school seniors. All seven transfers are already on campus with an additional two high school athletes that will participate in the spring semester activities.
Several players in the freshman class from North Dakota were from schools that made deep playoff runs this past season or in recent seasons, including Velva, New Rockford, Langdon, and West Fargo Horace. Horace senior quarterback Taylor Stefonowicz led the Hawks to a AA state championship this past season.
The Vikings team of coaches are continuing to recruit, and more signings will be announced in the coming weeks. So far 14 of the 34 athletes have been signing from North Dakota. The current class also include five athletes from Minnesota, four from Hawaii, two from Colorado and one from Alaska, California, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming
Valley City State is slated to open their 2025 season at Dickinson State on Saturday, Aug. 30.
