VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Catholic Schools Week was celebrated at St. Kates last week. It began Monday with a heartfelt program honoring our Military and its Veterans. Nicely done everyone, thanks to all who are serving and to our veterans.
It is looking like we have a solid week of pretty cold weather coming. It is a perfect time to use the Gaukler Family Wellness Center! If you haven’t been there, go, tour, and have a cup of coffee.
Thank you to the North Dakota League of Cities (NDLC) which provides numerous services for its North Dakota member cities and during the legislative session ,“bill tracking” is a huge. With over a thousand bills submitted this year, the NDLC Team is invaluable for us.
Whether you are involved with a business, a church, a school, a community etc., remember “People will go where they are invited, but they will stay where they feel welcome” ~ Sheryl Solberg. Let’s do our best to make people feel welcome.

Following two years of construction, Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) and Western Minnesota Municipal Power Association’s (WMMPA) Marshall Solar Plus Project began commercial operation. The Marshall Solar Plus Project has more than 21,000 solar panels, has a 10 megawatt capacity and a 5 megawatt storage-battery facility. It is capable of generating 21,000 megawatt-hours of electricity annually – enough to power over 2,000 homes.

Valley City Parks and Recreation’s “Safety Series” continues this Thursday, 5:30 at the Gaukler Family Wellness Center. This week our Police Department addresses general safety tips along with how to recognize and avoid being scammed.
