JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown woman died of injuries she suffered in a two vehicle crash near Jamestown earlier this week.

The Highway Patrol said three people were injured after a truck, pulling an empty enclosed trailer, eastbound in the left lane of Interstate 94 collided with a van also traveling eastbound attempted to change lanes in front of the truck.

A van driven by a 51-year-old Jamestown man sideswiped the truck, entered the median and rolled on Sunday, January 26th around 5:51pm near mile marker 257.

All occupants in the van were transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. One of the passengers, an 80-year-old Jamestown woman was flown to Sanford Hospital in Fargo by Sanford AirMed. She died of injuries suffered in the crash a few days later.

A 36-year-old Jamestown woman, a passenger in the vehicle was also injured in the crash. She and the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 34-year-old man from North Branch, MN was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Other agencies involved included the Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Jamestown Ambulance, and the Jamestown Fire Department.
