VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSUVikings.com)– The Valley City State University track & field team is headed to Grand Forks, N.D. to compete in the UND Open on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Event is slated to start at 11:00 a.m. at the Fritz Pollard Athletic Center with field event’s including the long and triple Jump. Following the field events are the running events beginning with the 5,000-meter race at 2:00 p.m.

As a whole, Viking track & field has produced 60 top eight finishes in just four events this season.

Viking sophomore Cameron Champagnie will compete in the 60-meter dash and the triple jump at the UND Open following a first-place performance in the long jump and third place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the Cobber Open.

Senior Jasmine Barnes is set to compete in the mile and the 1,000-meter. Barnes finished first in the 800-meter last week at the Cobber Open.

Jordan Mount had strong finished in the 200-meter and Long Jump at the Bison Team Cup on Jan. 18, will compete in the 200 and 400-meter races.

Junior Karly Just is back in action looking to improve her personal best in the 3,000-meter race. In her last outing in the 3,000-meter Just ran the second fasted time in school history.
