VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Legislative Session has been focusing on property tax reform, the use of legacy funds, and housing incentives.
Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation Director of Economic Development Jennifer Feist believes housing should be taken seriously by North Dakota lawmakers and city officials. She said two bills under consideration would create an incentive to help build more single-family homes in cities under ten thousand.
Feist said House Bill 1275 known as the Last Mile Fund centers on gas line installation.
Another is House Bill 1577 to establish a sanitary sewer fund for new housing developments.
Feist encouraged the Valley City commission to support these two bills. On Tuesday, the commission unanimously approved of the motion to do so during their meeting on January 21st.
