VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation Director of Economic Development Jennifer Feist encouraged the city to support a request for funds for the single-family housing pilot program.
She said the combined city and county goal is to entice more people to build single-family homes in the area.
Feist said under the pilot program, $10,000 per new home would be approved that meet the guidelines sourced from city funds. Approve waiver of water and sanitary sewer tap fees including temporary meter charges. And approve of the $118,750 sourced from the city sales tax dedicated to economic development.
She said the plan is to fund six homes initially with more in the years ahead.
The Valley City commission unanimously approved of the single-family housing pilot program during their meeting on January 21st.
