JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota)- The Jamestown Bluejays basketball teams hosted longtime rival Dickinson at Jerry Meyer Arena on Friday night in WDA play, and the Jamestown girls won their third in four games while the Bluejay boys rallied from an early deficit before falling to the Midgets.
Girls: Jamestown 68 Dickinson 45
Behind six threes from Mea Ulland and three players in double figures, Jamestown (5-6, 3-5 WDA) won their third in four games. Milan Martin had 15 and Amelia Newman had 12 for the Bluejays, who led by 15 at halftime and never looked back. Lauren Selle had 23 for Dickinson (1-11, 0-9 WDA).
Boys: Dickinson 78 Jamestown 67
The Midgets (8-4, 5-4 WDA) raced out to a 23-9 lead before Jamestown chipped away and eventually took a brief second half lead, but Boston Cranston had 31 to lead the visitors to victory. Thomas Newman led the Bluejays (0-11, 0-9 WDA) with 22 points while Jaxon Kolpin added 11 and Madden Skunberg chipped in with nine.
The Bluejay boys will host Moorhead on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 inside the Jamestown Civic Center on Q101 and the Jamestown 107.1 Sports YouTube Channel.
