Enderlin, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The RV Oakes Tornados had an extremely poor start on Tuesday as they didn’t have a field goal for the first 9 minutes of play. That wouldn’t stop them as they’d battle back from 12 down to take home 48-32 victory against the Enderlin Eagles.

The game started with Enderlin setting up their defense in a 2-3 zone and the Oakes Tornados couldn’t solve the puzzle for 9 minutes of gameplay as Oakes would go 0/16 in the first quarter scoring only 1 point off of a free throw as Enderlin took a 11-1 lead through 1. The Eagles would build that lead to 12 a couple times before Oakes started scoring from the free throw line and the field as the lead would evaporate in the span of 4 minutes. The score would end up being 19-18 Eagles leading at the half.

The Tornados would really turn it on in the 3rd as Izzy Friedt and Molly Sitzler would have a combined 15 points in the quarter to help give Oakes a 37-24 lead going into the 4th. Oakes would then hold onto that lead to win the game 48-32.

The leading all around scorer would be Aspyn Schlecht with 17. The Bank North Player of the Game and leading Oakes Scorer would be Izzy Friedt with 14.

Next for the Oakes girls is the Tri-State Tigers in Rosholt, MN on Friday at 7:00 pm.
