JAMESTOWN – The red hot Blue Jay girls hockey offense was cooled off by Dickinson goalie Olivia Vaagen Saturday at Wilson Arena as the Midgets left town with a 5-2 win.
Jamestown had scored 13 goals in its previous two games, but Vaagen kicked out 34 of 36 shots and led her team to victory.
Highlights for the Jays included a pair of goals by a pair of 8th graders. Maci Fisher scored her first varsity goal and likewise for Izzy Maddock.
Freshman Addy Gerhardt and Freshman Anna Lunde each picked up their first assist of the season.
Freshman goalie Ady Bakalar came away with 21 saves for Jamestown.
The Midgets got a goal and assist from Junior Kyndall Peterson, Sophomore KeAna Hendrickson and Freshman Gabi Sobilik.
The Blue Jays slip to 4-11 and Dickinson improves to 5-8.
Next up for the Jays is a trip to Legacy-Bismarck on Tuesday.
