Leona Weisser, 97, of Jamestown, ND, passed away on Friday morning, January 10, 2025, at St. Gabriel’s Community in Bismarck, ND.
Leona was born on June 23, 1927, in Medina, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Marie (Mayer) Moos. She attended country schools in the area and helped on the family farm south of Medina. Leona was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Weisser on October 30, 1953. They made their home in Jamestown, where Leona worked at Lil’s Restaurant and the North Dakota State Hospital. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos. Each year, Leona canned vegetables while Ted tended to the garden. Ted passed away on September 21, 2020.
Leona is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Weisser; grandchildren, Robert Olson, Sarah (Matt) Kurle, and Heather Hagel; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Shelby; and great-great-grandchild, Huntley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; her daughter, Marlene; her granddaughter, Becca Jo; and her siblings, Leon, Albert, Arthur, Pauline, Reuben, Leonard, Irene, Robert, and Clarence.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
