JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota)- Sometimes, as Carrington Head Coach Jason Otto said on Friday, you have to win ugly. And after a thrilling win on Thursday evening, that is just what his team did.
Josh Bickett scored a team-high 21 points as the Cardinals won every quarter in defeating Napoleon-Gackle/Streeter 68-51 on Friday afternoon at the 2025 Stutsman County Shootout inside the Jamestown Civic Center.
The first quarter was the opposite of Thursday’s opening stanza as both Carrington and Napoleon-GS struggled offensively and CHS led 12-7 after one. Bickett and Alec Threadgold combined for 19 of the 30 points for Carrington in the first half before the Cardinals pulled away after halftime.
Tristan Shaffner had a game-high 28 for the Imperials, but was the only player in double figures for his team.
Carrington is back in action Monday night, hosting Griggs-Midkota, who the Cardinals defeated 63-40 on January 3. Coverage on KDAK The Cardinal begins at 7:00 PM.
