Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The RV Lisbon Broncos remains undefeated against Class B Teams after coming behind from a 8 point deficit to start the 2nd half against the Oakes Tornadoes.
The game started slow for Oakes as they couldn’t get much to fall in the first allowing Lisbon to take a 12-8 lead through 1 quarter of play. The Broncos would extend the lead to 6 as they took at 16-10 lead about halfway through the 2nd quarter. The tides would change after that a Oakes would go on a 13-0 run to take a 23-16 lead. They would end up out scoring Lisbon 21-7 after the start of that run ending the half ahead by a score of 31-23.
The Broncos would come out firing the 3rd quarter as Oakes couldn’t get their feet under them as Lisbon would shut down both Roddek Schmit and Beau Thorpe for the entire half. Oakes would manage to hold onto the lead being up 40-38 going into the final frame. The Broncos would take the lead in the 4th and not give it up the rest of the way. Oakes would get close a couple times but with several costly turnovers and missed 3 ball at the buzzer the Broncos would hold onto win 55-52.
The leading all around scorer was Libon’s Cameron Cordero with 16 points (10-23 fg, 3/10 ft). The leading scorer for Oakes was Roddek Schmit with 12 points (5/6 fg, 2/2 ft) he also picked up his 7th straight double-double. Beau Thorpe had 11 points for Oakes as well. Jordan Bittner had 13 points and Lincoln Adair had 12 points for Lisbon.
The Bank North Player of the Game was Jyles Meier.
